Village Life – June 15

Two big events this weekend.

From Friday, June 15 to Sunday, June 17, the Olympic Village will be overrun with hundreds of paddlers for the Rio Tinto Alcan Dragon Boat Festival. For spectators, there are lots of race to watch, a market to check out, food carts, a music stage, and a beer garden.

On Sunday (aka Father’s Day), Car Free Vancouver takes over the streets of Commercial Drive, Denman, Kits, and nearby Main Street (between 12th and 29th). Highlights of the Main Street Car Free Day include several music stages, a pedal-powered DJ, street hockey, BLIM Market, and a kids bike rodeo.

About canadianveggie

I enjoy exploring the great outdoors, eating good vegan food, cycling around Vancouver, solving problems with software, learning about urban planning, and discussing politics.
